Please include the app name and your iOS version — it saves a round trip.
Applies to every app
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone, and nowhere else. There is no account, no server, and no sync.
Deleting an app deletes its data permanently — it cannot be recovered, by you or by me.
Will my data survive a new phone?
Only through an encrypted iPhone backup that includes app data. There is no cloud
restore, because there is no cloud.
No. It is an estimate, for planning and budgeting. It is not tax advice, it does not
file anything, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the IRS. Confirm anything that
matters with a tax professional.
Where do the numbers come from?
The published IRS inflation adjustments for tax year 2026 (Rev. Proc. 2025-32) and the
2026 Form 1040-ES estimated-payment due dates: brackets for Single, Married Filing Jointly
and Head of Household, standard deductions of $16,100 / $32,200 / $24,150, the $184,500
Social Security wage base, and the 0.9% Additional Medicare thresholds.
Why doesn't it include my state?
Version 1 is federal only. State income tax is the most requested addition and is
planned — if you tell me your state, it helps me prioritise which ones come first.
What does it not model?
Itemised deductions, tax credits, retirement contributions, and the QBI phase-outs that
apply to specified service businesses at higher incomes. It assumes the standard deduction
and a simplified 20% QBI deduction.
What is the "safe harbor" box for?
Enter last year's total tax. IRS rules let you pay 100% of that figure across the year
(110% if your prior-year AGI was over $150,000) without an underpayment penalty, even if
this year turns out bigger. If that number is lower than this year's estimate, the app
switches your quarterly amounts to it.
My numbers changed after I entered W-2 wages.
That's correct behaviour. The Social Security portion of self-employment tax shares one
annual wage base with your W-2 wages, so day-job salary reduces how much of your freelance
income is still subject to it.
Reclaim: Screen Time Insight
Why do I have to type my screen time in?
Apple's Screen Time framework cannot hand your usage figures to a third-party app —
reports render only inside a sandboxed system extension, and the entitlement is granted
case by case. So Reclaim asks. Read your daily average from Settings → Screen Time and
enter it. It takes seconds a week, and typing the number is itself part of what works.
Why doesn't it block anything?
By design. Blockers get bypassed and people uninstall them. Reclaim is built on the
opposite bet: show an adult the true size of the number and let them decide.
How is "waking life" calculated?
It assumes 16 waking hours a day — 112 in a week. That's the denominator behind the dot
grid and the percentage.
I entered the wrong week.
Use "Undo last log" on the history card.
Anchor: ADHD Daily Routines
Is this a medical or therapeutic product?
No. Anchor is a productivity app whose interaction design is built around
ADHD-friendly patterns — one step on screen, externalised time, no shame mechanics. It does
not diagnose, treat, or claim to improve any condition, and it is not a substitute for
professional care.
Why is there no streak to protect?
Deliberately. "Days you showed up" only ever goes up. A number that can be reset to zero
is the single most common reason people abandon habit apps, so this one structurally
cannot break.
What happens when I skip a step?
Nothing. It's labelled "Skip — no penalty" because that's exactly what it is. The
routine moves on and your history is unaffected.
The timer ran out and nothing happened.
Correct. When the bar reaches zero the app says "no rush" and waits. It never alarms
and never advances on its own.
Can I add my own routines?
Yes — create, edit, reorder and delete freely. The two starter routines are fully
editable too.
One Line a Day: Micro Journal
Why only 200 characters?
The cap is the feature. It removes the blank-page dread that ends most journaling
habits. One sentence, thirty seconds, done.
When do the lookbacks appear?
On the today screen, as soon as you have an entry from that far back: yesterday, then
7, 30, 90, 180 and 365 days ago. The first one shows up on your second day.
Can I edit or delete a past line?
Yes. Open it from the archive.
How do I get my writing out?
One-tap plain-text export of everything, from Settings. Your lines are never hostage to
this app.
I missed a day. Can I backfill it?
Not in the current version — the app is honest about which day a line belongs to. If
you want this, tell me; it's the kind of thing I'd reconsider given enough requests.
OK Today: Senior Check-In
Is this an emergency or medical alert system?
No. OK Today is a daily comfort ritual between family members. It is
not an emergency alert, not fall detection, not a monitoring service, and it cannot summon
help. If you need emergency response, buy a product built for that.
Does the family member need the app?
No. That's the whole point. The check-in arrives as an ordinary text message in their
Messages app. Nothing to install, no account, no pairing code.
Why does it ask for a second tap to send?
iOS does not allow any app to send a text silently, which is the right privacy
decision. The button writes the entire message and slides up a message box with it ready;
tapping the blue arrow sends it. When you set the app up, do that once together with your
parent — that arrow is Apple's, and no app can make it bigger.
Can it be one tap, with no arrow at all?
Yes, with about five minutes of setup. Apple's Shortcuts app is the one place on iOS
that can send a text immediately, so OK Today can walk you through building a
“I'm OK” icon for your parent's Home Screen: open the app, go to Settings, and
tap Skip the arrow — make it one tap. Two things to know before you do.
First, it sends the instant the icon is pressed — there is no confirmation and no
undo, so check the number twice. Second, that icon lives on the phone, not in the app: if
it is deleted or an iOS update disturbs it, you rebuild it the same way. The app's own
button keeps working either way.
Do the week dots count the one-tap icon?
No. The dots only fill for check-ins sent from inside the app, because that is the only
path where the phone tells the app a message actually went. If you use the Home Screen
icon, treat the text itself as the record.
How do I set it up on my parent's phone?
Do it yourself, on their phone, once: open the app, enter their name, your name, and
your mobile number, then tap "Send a test message now" to confirm it works before you leave.
Two minutes.
Can it send to more than one person?
Not in version 1 — one recipient. Multiple recipients is the most requested addition.
Is there a subscription?
No, and there never will be. You pay once. Nobody should have to subscribe to tell
their family they're fine.
The daily reminder stopped appearing.
Check Settings → Notifications → OK Today on the phone, and confirm notifications are
allowed. If it still doesn't fire, email me the iOS version — this is the failure mode I
most want to hear about.
